Trump and Hillary Don't Know How to Fix the Economy / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
Justin Murray writes: Recently, Hillary Clinton was taped ridiculing Donald Trump for lacking a detailed plan for the American economy. The message, so it goes, is that Trump is not suited for the presidency because he doesn’t have a plan on how to turn the American economy around.
But is it really more dangerous to elect a president who makes up economic policy on the fly than one who proclaims to have a detailed plan for us?

A Guide to the Trump-Sanders Debate / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
Ryan W. McMaken writes: It looks like Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders are planning to debate each other. Drudge today is calling it "the debate of the century."
Color me skeptical. If it happens, the debate will provide some entertainment for political junkies, but the areas of disagreement between the two are actually quite small, and the debate is likely to focus on "soft" issues like being polite to women. Don't look for much debate on issues that get to the heart of the economic system.

How the Democrats Could Lose the Presidency--Again / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
In 1967, the United States was digging itself deeper into the war in Vietnam.
The anti-war movement was being forged by the youth, energetic and willing to stand up to establishment values. They were the peace-loving environmentally-friendly hippies, the more radical but fun-loving Yippies, and those who held weekday establishment jobs and resented the structure and rules of an older generation that had survived the economic depression of the 1930s, the war years of the 1940s and early 1950s, and now wanted the “Happy Days” comfort of the 1950s.

How Democrats Can Lose the Presidency to a Fool / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
The anti-war movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s was being forged by the youth, energetic and willing to stand up to establishment values.

What This U.S. Presidential Election Tells Us About Her Millennial Generation / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
FRA Co-founder Gordon T. Long is joined by Kristin Tate in discussing her book and the outlook of Millennials on the upcoming US election.

In her book she says D.C. politicians are shipping our friends and family overseas to fight in wars we shouldn’t be fighting. They monitor our emails, record our phone calls, and peer into our snail mail. They spend our hard-earned cash on things no disciplined family would buy. They tell us who we can marry and what we can put in our bodies. They throw us in overcrowded prisons for smoking pot. They take lavish trips around the world, staying in five-star hotels… and it comes straight out of our paychecks. This isn’t freedom?

The Success of Trump’s Campaign Shouldn’t Come as a Surprise / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
Years ago, I gave a speech in Texas for Rick Goodwin, a financial advisor. It was an election year, so he kicked off the meeting by discussing politics. He noted that the word comes from Greek, with “poli” meaning “many,” and “tics” meaning “blood-sucking bugs that are hard to get rid of.” Robin Williams used the same joke.I can’t speak for others, but this is why I believe Donald Trump is the presumptive Republican nominee, even though he repels so many people. He points out what we all know – politicians regularly avoid hard questions, outright lie, and fail to follow through on much of what they promise.

Donald Trump, the King of Debt Seeks US Presidency / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
During a lengthy interview on CNBC the week before last, Donald Trump, fresh from becoming the presumptive Republican nominee, came as close as any major presidential contender ever has to saying that America is not capable of repaying her debts in full, and that our path to economic recovery might involve some pain for our creditors. This moment of candor earned Trump almost as much condemnation as his earlier suggestions to ban Muslims from entering the United States.

‘Print the Money’: Trump’s ‘Reckless’ Proposal Echoes Franklin and Lincoln / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
“Reckless,” “alarming,” “disastrous,” “swashbuckling,” “playing with fire,” “crazy talk,” “lost in a forest of nonsense”: these are a few of the labels applied by media commentators to Donald Trump’s latest proposal for dealing with the federal debt. On Monday, May 9th, the presumptive Republican presidential candidate said on CNN, “You print the money.”
The remark was in response to a firestorm created the previous week, when Trump was asked if the US should pay its debt in full or possibly negotiate partial repayment. He replied, “I would borrow, knowing that if the economy crashed, you could make a deal.” Commentators took this to mean a default. On May 9, Trump countered that he was misquoted:

The Trump Factor - The Art of the Double-Dealing Megalomaniac / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
Savannah State University in Georgia will offer a three-credit course this summer, “The Trump Factor in American Politics.” The professor is Dr. Robert Smith, who says the students will read Trump’s policy statements and excerpts from Trump’s books, and then discuss his political philosophies.
Many people may believe this is a terrible waste of any student’s mind and tuition payments. Some may even claim there are other courses that have higher value in the American educational system. For example, Rutgers offers “Politicizing Beyonce,” Skidmore College offers “The Sociology of Miley Cyrus,” the University of Missouri offers a class to better understand Kanye West and Jay Z, and hundreds of colleges have courses that look at the lives and views of strange people known as philosophers.

Fear of America First by GOP Establishment / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to heaven, we were all going direct the other way - in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only”, is just as true today about the true conservative movement as it was back in Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities, era.

What Happened to the Bernie Revolution? / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
In a recent interview I was asked why Bernie Sanders, a self-described "democratic socialist" had seemingly attracted so much support among young people. In fact polls suggest Sanders is the most popular candidate among people aged 18-29, and 51 percent of that same age group appears fed up with "capitalism in its current form," according to a recent Harvard study.

Donald Trump, King of Debt Seeks US Presidency / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
On a lengthy interview on CNBC this morning, Donald Trump, the now presumptive Republican nominee, looked back on his business history to lay the groundwork to what he would do as President. He came as close as any major presidential contender to saying that America's formula for economic recovery might involve repaying our creditors less than what we owe. This is a major development that should be rewriting the playbook on Wall Street and call into question the risk-free nature of U.S. Treasuries.Read full article... Read full article...

US 2016 Election Is a Global Risk / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
As America is struggling amid a historical protest election, the political risk could undermine US economic rebound and the lingering global economic recovery. Europe will be least immune to spillovers, says Dan Steinbock.Currently, the leading Democratic presidential candidates, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, are approaching the final showdown. Concurrently, the Republican establishment – including Senate’s majority leader Mitch McConnell and House Speaker Paul Ryan– is struggling to undermine the real estate mogul Donald Trump’s campaign by promoting Senator Ted Cruz, Governor Kasich and less-known ‘dark horses.’

Donald Trump - Make America Great Again / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
Donald Trump's critics have heaped scorn on his calls for protective tariffs to deal with America's widening trade imbalance and the resulting loss of higher-paying blue color jobs. Some have accused him of trying to turn back the clock in pursuit of a cheap populist ploy and have said that he simply refuses to acknowledge that America is now an information and service economy for which large trade deficits are the new normal. But voters are sensing that The Donald is right to sound alarm bells, and that something radical needs to be done to revive manufacturing to make America great again. But his tariff solution is hardly the best medicine. To be honest, given the even worse solutions that are being offered by the left, Trump's instincts may be preferable.

Lucifer! Former Speaker Boehner Blasts Cruz / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
John Boehner minced no words, calling Cruz “Lucifer in the flesh,” adding “I have never worked with a more miserable son-of-a-***** in my life.”
Trump sounds almost mild, calling him “lying Ted…a hypocrite…a nasty guy. Nobody likes him. Nobody in Congress likes him. Nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him.”

Cruz-Fiorina Alliance Shows Desperation / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
A days earlier announced Cruz-Kasich alliance to stay out of each other’s way in upcoming primaries as a way of challenging Trump faltered straightaway - Kasich urging supporters to stick with him.
Trump called their gambit “pathetic,” a desperation move. In response to Cruz naming Carly Fiorina his running mate, he posted an earlier TV clip on his Twitter page of her calling Cruz a politician who “says whatever he needs to say to get elected.”

Facebook Censors Pro Trump and Negative Hillary News / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
The establishment protector of “PC” purity strikes again. By definition, Free Speech IS political. For reasons that only a hard core Hillary sycophant could understand, the mere posting or sharing of online reports on the 2016 Election Race is now blocked. Such a Facebook policy to disrupt political content goes to the heart of the Corporatocracy assault on open and uncensored political discourse. Little Mark Zuckerberg operates as the front and gatekeeper for the power elites who seek to manage, filter and remove information that does not fit into their plan for globalism.

“Bernie’s gone” and the “new” Trump towers after NY Primary / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
“Bernie’s gone. You know that? Bernie’s gone,” Trump said on April 20 at a rally in Indianapolis, Indiana, the day after Hillary Clinton routed Sanders in the New York primary. “I love running against crooked Hillary,” he said. “Bernie wouldn’t be as much fun.”
Every election year promises full employment in industry sectors that serve the public with almost daily opinion polls that tell you what one- to two-thousand people (a sampling) think about every candidate and issue; and, in case you can’t think for yourself, a generous assortment of pundits (usually biased) who will connect the dots and tell you what “most Americans think”.

Who is Voting for Trump and Why / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
30 years of wage stagnation followed by one wealth-eviscerating asset bubble after another has drained the optimism from the collective American psyche. Most people now think things are going to get worse for themselves and their children. This pervasive pessimism shows up in other surveys as well, like this recent Gallup poll in which the sample-group was asked, “In general, are you satisfied or dissatisfied with the way things are going in the United States at this time?”

Trump Is No Peace Candidate / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2016
Throughout its sordid history, all US presidents supported war, not peace - including Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and both Roosevelts.
Traditional US policy from inception refutes the notion of a peace candidate becoming president - Jack Kennedy the one exception.
He entered office a warrior, transformed himself into a peacemaker, was killed for wanting all US forces out of Vietnam by end of 1963, normalized ties with Soviet Russia, nuclear disarmament, and the CIA disbanded, among other anti-establishment views.
