Unfortunately, for winners there is a fly in the ointment in that supermarkets such as Tesco are increasingly refusing to accept any more than 1 voucher per customer PER DAY (worth upto 80p) in exchange for a free packet of Doritos as has been our recent experience at Tesco, Sheffield.

Land Rover Discovery Sport Extreme Driving "Beast from the East" Snow Weather Test / ConsumerWatch / Motoring

The 'Beast from the East' weather from Siberia has been hitting the UK all week since Tuesday 27th Feb, with heavy snowfall fall of between 5 cm and 15cm disrupting travel, snow flurries falling every few hours soon covering gritted roads in the coldest weather experienced for the UK since at least the past 5 years. Many motorists decided to do the sensible thing and leave their vehicles parked rather than risk driving.
However, in the interests of wanting to test the Land Rover Discovery Sport's All wheel drive and for a better look at the impact of the 'Beast from the East's heavy snowfall, I decided to hunt down some of the most badly effected roads in the city of Sheffield, none more so then those going out of the city to literally within a stones throw of Derbyshire as the this video illustrates.

Samsung with their series of Gear VR headsets, typically for under £60, have made VR affordable to anyone with a high end Samsung smartphone. The key thing is the ease of use, just slot the phone into the headset and after a quick automated software install the user is immediately immersed in a surprisingly high resolution VR world.
However, what we may be seeing are the beginnings of a new addiction, one of the soon to be exploding epidemic of being addicted to exciting virtual reality fantasy worlds and impressive games rather than the far more mundane real world, and as this video illustrates the addiction can be near instantaneous, even after just the a few minutes of first use, so VR has a lot in common with many hard drugs!

Youtube on the 20th of January decided to cut all small channels loose from their partner programme, all those channels with less than 1000 subscribers and 4k watch time who by the 20th of February will be ejected from the Youtube partner programme that amongst several benefits included monetization of videos which in most cases for Youtubers resulted in a token return of typically about $10 per month. So the blow for being ejected from the youtube partner programme is not financial but rather Youtube effectively telling its smaller youtubers to get lost, as effectively Youtube is now no longer YOUtube but instead it's Celebtube or Adtube, really just another broadcast channel full of commercialised content full of ads and NOT what YOUtube has been for the past 10 years!

Land Rover Discovery Sport, What to Know Before Buying - 2 Month Owner Drivers Review / ConsumerWatch / Motoring

This is my comprehensive review after owning and driving a Land Rover Discovery Sport for 2 months, of what to expect if your considering buying one as it does take a few weeks of real world driving before one is fully aware of the cars good and bad points, such as the pretty feeble plastic trim that tends to surround Discovery Sports, the rattling sound that many owners tend to experience again apparently from poor quality trim.
So whilst the Discovery Sport looks great on the driveway and generally also drives well, in many other respects my 11 year old Zafira was better i.e. the back two seats are seriously lacking in leg room, definitely not enough space for adults! And what's worse is that real world fuel economy performance will come nowhere near Land Rovers sales pitch of the DISCO doing 53.3 MPG. Then we have the fantasy of the first oil service change at 21,000 miles, when in reality the car will be requesting an oil change much sooner! So watch my 2 month drivers and owners review for what you need to beware of before you buy one. Where this HSE Black was bought from Hunters in Chester.

In this video I answer the question of just how closely Land Rover Discovery Sports fuel economy compares against Land Rovers 53.3 MPG sales pitch, as knowing what a car will actually do under real driving conditions is a very important consideration when buying any new car. This test is of real world driving done wholly in ECO Mode so as to maximise fuel economy of what to expect from a 15 month old Land Rover Discovery Sport that has done about 13,000 miles from new.

Every owner of newer diesel cars such as the Land Rover Discovery Sport should be aware that they have a separate Adblue tank that needs topping up every x thousand miles, and that the car needs an oil change every x thousand miles, 21,000 in the Discovery Sports case, where to aid drivers there are countdowns for both of these displayed on the dashboard. However, just how reliable are these indicators when compared against the manufactures sales pitch. For instance adblue is supposed to be consumed at the rate of 1 litre per 1000 miles driven. Whilst the oil service indicator should be counting down to 21,000 for the LR Discovery Sport.
