No Do NOT Attack Iran !

The UN santions has damaged a good portion of their economy...& I believe their inflation rate is @ 60%. A 2nd round of UN santions went effecitve just a few wks ago. Mahmod is feeling pressure from the ayatollahs above him; they don't want him to taunt the US. This chess move w/ the British was brilliant on their part. They had the Brits by the short hairs & the entire free world watched on TV. Not only that, they had the British POWs giving detailed info w/ maps & positions on the tele! I would pay good money to listen in on their "debriefing". This entire escapade was an embarrasment to the UK. Note the response from the White House: guarded. If this would have stretched into many wks it could have got real dangerous. A desprate nation is a dangerous one. I'm wondering what would happen if they acquired nuclear capability? I think it's just a matter of when...& I'm referencing ABC News. My next question is what will we do when they do acquire nuclear capability? What will we do?

Does it matter that Iran has nukes? I mean, what's to say angry Islamists in that part of the world don't simply overthrow Musharraf in Pakistan and the new bosses simply give their nukes to Iran, the same way that we, err, hmmm, slipped a few hundred to our buds in Israel, on the Q.T., of course? And their rationale would be precisely the same -- to avert military confrontations from aggressive aliens. I think they used to call it detente. If we can give favored trading partner status to commie Chinese who have real nukes, not imaginary ones or "programs," aimed at us, then surely we can live with a nation on the other side of the globe that has no nukes and no means to deliver them at us.

It's not about the nuclear issue, it's about US dominance of a region flowing with oil at a time in man's history when world supplies are certain to face depletion. The 'choice' has already been made, the US will let us know when the genocide of the Iranians is to begin. Please stop using the term 'military action', this is not a game of warhammer. Hundreds of thousands of humans as real as yourself will lose their lives. The sanctions thing will not work because the Iranians have in the last thirty years or so learned to produce a vast array of things as they realised that living in an area surrounded by enemies necessiated self-reliance. Iran does not consider itself anyone's colony and will refuse to act as one, that is their final line in the sand which i support completely. Nations that have committed no crimes such as Iran should not be targeted in this way, they would not be targeted in a just and stable world, which this is not. The world is a school playground in macrocosm, Iran will not hand over it's lunch money.

The neocon plan for world domination goes on. Even without former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and all the other key players, the violent plan to remake the Middle East in our image is now shifting into a higher gear. If you listen closely, you can hear the sound of a clock counting down. Bush is running out of time....

"Voting" for US to commit an immoral, illegal act?
by Ruth on Apr 14, 2007 - 06:18 AM

This poll asks readers to vote whether they do or do not want the US military to commit an immoral and illegal act--aggressive war--in order to destroy another country's legal nuclear energy industry and its defenses. Next, will the Market Oracle ask readers to vote yes or no on whether failing businesses should hire bandits to rob a bank in the next neighborhood? Or how about a vote on whether or not to drop nuclear weapons on Baghdad in order to eliminate the insurgency? If readers of the Market Oracle who actually clicked "yes" on this poll are so eager to commit this illegal act against Iran, let them do it themselves and take the consequences instead of urging my government to spend my tax money and send my friends' children to do the dirty deed.
