Labour Party Anoints Alan Billings as Next South Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner

Local / UK By-Elections Oct 25, 2014 - 12:30 PM GMT

Local

The Labour party in the aftermath of the Rotherham child abuse scandal Jay Report chaos and the eventual resignation of Sean Wright as South Yorkshires Police and Crime Commissioner in a panic has opted to play ultra safe in the selection of Dr Alan Billings as the next Police Commissioner for the Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire which given the last SYPCC poll that saw Labour win by more than a 35% lead against the second place candidate which ensures that the actual election will just be a mere formality.

The results of the 2012 SYPCC election illustrate the fact that the other candidates don't stand a cat in hells chance of beating whatever candidate Labour puts up, even if it had four for legs South Yorkshires Labour zombie voters would still mark their X's against the red rose candidate.

PCC Election Result 2012
Candidate
Party

Shaun Wright
Labour  51.35

David Allen
English Democrat  15.56

Nigel Bonson
Conservative  14.51

Jonathan Arnott
UKIP  11.54

Robert Teal
Liberal Democrat 7.04

Who is Dr Alan Billings ?

A retired Anglican priest who currently works as the director of Ethics and Religion at Lancaster University and in the distant past was deputy leader of Sheffield City Council (Labour) from 1981 to 1986. Therefore I don't think labour could have played it much safer than an ex-parish priest, some several decades removed from the current Rotherham scandal.

Rotherham Scandal Impact on the SYPCC Election?

There is much discussion in the media that the Rotherham Child abuse scandal that continues to crop up in the mainstream media every now and then will have a huge impact on the SYPCC election outcome with speculation that UKIP could win the by-election to be held on 30th October 2014.

The most recent coverage in the aftermath of the scandal report has seen BBC Look North reporting on the surge of hate crime in Rotherham against the local asian community, as an example customers when calling taxi firms often make requests for a 'Groomer', as the abuse report into the scandal identified taxi drivers as being the focal point in the perpetuation of the child abuse that the city council has so far failed to address.

Key points that need to be addressed by Rotherham and other Major cities:

1. All taxi drivers have to be properly vetted before they are allowed to operate in ANY city. Every current and future taxi driver needs to be at least CRB checked if not interviewed and risk assessed.

2. All those guilty of abuse need to be held fully and publically to account in a court of Law.

3. The public services need to be cleansed of all those who turned a blind eye to the abuse, Sean Wright resigning is just not enough, many hundreds more need to be sacked to restore public confidence as well as criminal prosecutions against those in power, including ex-councillors who turned a blind eye.

On a side note, it is a little galling to continue to see the first abusers, the parents on broadcast news crying crocodile tears as they contemplate gaining a share of the £100k+ compensations that will soon start being paid out, for if these so called 'parents' had done their job in the first place then the children would NOT have ended up in care of social services!

Where the election is concerned, where even if UKIP tripled their vote they would still come nowhere beating Labour zombie voters, especially as Rotherham will likely only represent about 15% of the electorate.

The bottom line is political pundits are not fully appreciating the zombiesk tendency of South Yorkshires brainwashed Labour voters to vote Labour no matter who the candidate is or how badly Labour has governed in places such as Rotherham, a city in terminal decline where its city centre was killed off 2 decades ago when Meadowhall opened its doors and everything the Council has done since such as hefty car parking charges has made matters worse. Who is going to pay to park in a deserted Rotherham city centre when they can go and park for free and shop at Meadowhall ?

The glare of the abuse scandal will soon start to shift from Rotherham towards other neighbouring cities that probably have had a similar problem, where a year from now cities such as Sheffield may have replaced Rotherham in the social services child abuse headlines.
