Ford Falls Off a Cliff—These 3 Companies Could Be Next / Companies / Corporate Bonds

By: Robert_Ross

It’s been a long time coming.

PIMCO, the world’s largest bond hedge fund, has been warning investors about this for months. So has Federal Reserve Chairman Jay Powell.

So I wasn’t surprised when the first domino in the corporate debt crisis fell last week…

Credit rating agency Moody’s downgraded Ford Motor Co.’s bonds from investment grade to “junk” status last Monday.

The downgrade affected Ford’s entire $84-billion debt load, according to Bloomberg.

Amazon Could Soon Be the World’s Biggest Shipping Company / Companies / Amazon

By: Stephen_McBride

Amazon (AMZN) kicked off the internet shopping boom in the ‘90s when it started shipping books.

These days, you can click a button and get almost anything delivered to your door.

Amazon sold $164 billion worth of stuff on its website this year.

If there were a disruptor stock hall of fame, Amazon would be first in line.

But Amazon didn’t disrupt shopping alone. Goods can’t ship themselves.

Banksters Finally Hit with Racketeering Charges– Better Late Than Never! / Companies / Banksters

By: MoneyMetals

JPMorgan Chase and other bullion banks spent most of a decade screwing clients and investors who were naive enough to expect a fair shake in the precious metals futures markets. It was a solid racket.

Yet claims of price rigging were simply dismissed by financial journalists and regulators as conspiracy theory. The banks’ defenders were bolstered by a 5-year-long investigation by the compromised Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) which ended without a single banker being prosecuted.

Are Cowboys Really Dreaming of... Electric Trucks? / Companies / Electric Cars

By: Rodney_Johnson

The title of this piece is a play on a book, but the question stands: Will cowboys, or anyone else who buys a truck, be interested in an electric version? Ford and GM are betting their companies on it, which could be a huge mistake.

A Truck-Loving Family

Somewhere along the way, we became a truck family. My wife wanted a small 4×4 to navigate flooded streets, which makes sense given where we live. She ended up with a Chevrolet Colorado, and couldn’t be happier. For whatever reason, my younger daughter always wanted a Ford F-150, so she drove off to college in a jacked up, 4×4 SuperCrew. Granted, it was used, but still pretty cool.

Uber Stock Price Will Crash on November 6 / Companies / Self Driving Cars

By: Stephen_McBride

By Justin Spittler : Circle November 6 on your calendar.

That day, one of America’s most controversial disruptor stocks will likely get crushed.

If history’s any indication, it could easily plunge 10% or even 15%.

Rumors will fly that the company is going out of business.

But if you know what’s coming, you have nothing to worry about. You could even capitalize on the fear.

In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if November 6 turns out to be the best opportunity to buy this beaten down stock ahead of a big bounce.

Semiconductor Stocks Sector Market & Economic Leader / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Gary_Tanashian

The signals have persisted since the May lows in the Semi sector and in the broad markets. Nominal Semiconductor (esp. Semi Equipment) stocks and the sector’s market leadership have remained intact into our window for a projected cycle bottom, which was the 2nd half of 2019.

This post shines a favorable light on the Semiconductor sector while at the same time acknowledging that may have little to do with the broad market’s fortunes as Q3’s reporting begins next month. In other words, while we have been projecting new highs for the S&P 500 on the very short-term, there are fundamental and technical reasons to believe the stock market could be significantly disturbed in Q4. But the Semi sector is an economic early bird. Let’s remember that.

Tech Giants Will Crash in the Next Stock Market Downturn / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Robert_Ross

Some of your “safe” stocks aren’t as safe as you might think.

And now is a good time to sell them.

Let me explain…

As you likely know, US stocks have shot up and down many times over the last month. In August alone, there were five days when the S&P 500 rose or fell at least 1%.

That might not sound like a lot, but it’s a pretty big deal.

Uber’s Nightmare Has Just Started / Companies / Self Driving Cars

By: Stephen_McBride

“Never get in cars with strangers…”

Did your parents tell you that when you were a kid?

These days, people get in cars with strangers all the time... only they use a smartphone “app” to match them with a specific stranger to drive them around.

As you may have guessed, I’m referring to Uber, the world’s biggest ride-sharing company.

It’s like a taxi company except it doesn’t own any cars. It doesn’t employ any drivers either. Instead, it runs an app that connects drivers with people who need a ride.

Pot Stocks Crash – Why Cannibals Stocks Will Never Recover / Companies / Cannabis

By: Stephen_McBride

For much of the past century marijuana has been a “Schedule 1 drug.” It was put alongside dangerous drugs like heroin.

The business of growing, processing, and selling marijuana was conducted in the shadows, illegally.

But as you probably know, the laws are changing.

Now a dozen US states have completely opened up the market for marijuana. Even if you live where marijuana is still illegal, you’ve likely heard a lot about “pot stocks.”

Internet marketers have promoted the heck out of this exciting new industry. You’ve probably seen ads promising to make you a “pot stock millionaire”…

There’s Only One Group of Stocks a Sane Investor Would Buy Now / Companies / Investing 2019

By: Robert_Ross

Fear of missing out is a dangerous drug.

And right now, it’s luring investors in.

Investors know US stocks have gone up nearly 200% over the past decade—and are now near all-time highs. They know this is the longest bull market in US history.

At the same time, they’re watching other people make money and thinking, “I need to get in on this.”

Problem is, investors are piling into a very expensive—and risky—market.

That includes $14.4 billion during a single week in June. It was the largest inflow of money in nearly two years.

Unfortunately, history shows a lot of these people are setting themselves up to buy high and sell low.

I’ll share some exceptions in a bit.

The Importance Of Online Marketing For Companies / Companies / Marketing

By: Boris_Dzhingarov

Online marketing - also known as marketing 2.0 - is the combination of all the new technologies in the network. The companies present on the Internet have more visibility and, therefore, more brand knowledge and transcendence. Companies that use online marketing have more direct contact with their potential customers. Marketing 2.0 It allows to know the needs and desires of the clients themselves and, thus, to be able to satisfy them first hand and, in the same way, to be able to compete with the rest of the digitized companies.

FXA Bearish Cycle From The July 2011 Highs / Companies / Exchange Traded Funds

By: ElliottWaveForecast

Firstly the FXA ETF fund is the Australian dollar tracking fund that has an Inception Date of 06/21/2006.  With that said the fund mainly reflects the currency spot price of the AUDUSD forex pair. The data available from the Reserve Bank of Australia at their website suggests the spot price was 1.4875 back in 1973 to 1974 that would translate into an FXA price of  around 148.75.  It should be obvious that is a long term downtrend. I believe the bearish cycle analysis suggests it can go lower to possibly retest those lows eventually.

Back before the FXA fund inception date, the AUDUSD spot currency price reached what is still the currency low in April 2001 at .4778. From there the currency pair went up in three swings until July 2011 at a high of 1.1080. That translated into the FXA ETF fund price high of 110.99 in July 2011. This is where the monthly Elliott wave analysis  begins on the chart below.
