The Online Gaming Industry is Going Up

Companies / Online Gambling Sep 10, 2019 - 03:57 PM GMT

Companies The online gaming space has been active for quite a while now, but it was not until recently that it saw a major boost. There has been unprecedented growth, and there is no doubt that online gaming can completely change the face of future entertainment. You have the likes of Betway coming up. Betway doesn’t only allow you to bet on your favorite games, you can also play your favorite casino games there. With Betway88 casino, it’s all possible.

How Has the Online Gaming Industry Changed?

The last decade has seen a massive rise in the popularity of online gaming. By the end of 2016, the industry was worth more than $41bn, and it is all set to hit the $80bn mark by the time we reach the end of this decade. Online casino players are now responsible for 11% of the total internet traffic at this point in time. The remote gambling sector in the United Kingdom has seen a whopping 300% increase since 2014, which speaks for itself.

Apart from the remote-betting industry, the non-remote betting community has also become more active in the past few years. The rising popularity of bookies and casinos is an indication that we might be heading for a virtual revolution. However, Bingo halls is the only non-remote gambling sector which has not progressed in any way over the last few years.

It is easy to assume that the marked rise in remote gambling can be attributed to players preferring online gambling over the traditional methods. However, that is far from the truth. Both the online and offline industries have shown improvement, which means that both beginners and long-time gamblers are finding the idea of online gambling convenient and engaging.

Why the growth?

The global gaming industry has seen large growth as a whole, and we should not be surprised at the incredible success of online casinos. At the end of 2017, it was found that the global gaming industry had reached $107bn, which was more than what the film and music industries were worth combined that year. The primary reason why gaming has become so popular among people of all age groups is the advanced technologies that we can now access. The surge of better technology has automatically improved the available gaming experience for users.

Mobile technology, in particular, has improved by miles and bounds, triggering the rise in popularity of online gaming. The improved connectivity and accessibility allow more players to engage themselves in a casino at the same time. Being able to access mobile casino from wherever and whenever led to users devoting themselves to the game even more than before.

We have now moved on from the era of console gaming to the era of mobile gaming. Online gambling is no longer a desktop experience. More and more mobile casinos are making their way into the market. The saturated market leads to better gaming experiences for all users. It is also important to note that there has been a rise in the number of female online gamblers recently.
