The Obama Administration has won its second term. And now that the election is over we can come to grips with the fact that nothing has been fixed and that the math is impossible both in Europe and here.

Stock Market and Gold Post U.S. Election Analysis / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2012

By: Giuseppe_Borrelli

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleWith more than five million Americans collecting unemployment, forty-six million on food stamps, and half of all Americans receiving some sort of government aide, we shouldn’t be surprised that Americans gave the man who made it all possible another four years. Obama won his election, the Democrats increased their hold on the Senate and gained seats in the House, so the President will take that as a mandate to move ahead with his great socialist program. Bernanke will continue with QE until hell freezes over, or the dollar collapses, in order to make the dream a reality. Obama Care will stay in the books even though it will not improve the quality of life for Americans, and they can’t afford to pay for it.

Did Hurricane Sandy Cause $36.5 Trillion In Damage? Flooded Bank Vaults / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2012

By: Raul_I_Meijer

Diamond Rated - Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleFirst of all: the answer to the title question is, as far as I can see: no. But it's almost certainly a whole lot more than the $50 billion reported today, and that $36.5 trillion amount doesn’t come from thin air; it appears in a number of news articles about Sandy. All in all, the story raises a few more questions, allows you to play with a bunch of numbers, and leaves you puzzled, amazed and at times easily bewildered.

U.S. Presidential Election Cycle and the Stock and Bond Market Trends / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2012

By: Chris_Vermeulen

Diamond Rated - Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleIt is that time in the presidential cycle that gets everyone emotional and concerned with the future outlook of the United States. While everyone has their opinion on whom they think is best for America, I promised myself a long time ago to keep my thoughts to myself for two key reasons. ONE: only 50% of Americans will agree with me J, and TWO: I am Canadian so I do not experience what Americans go through on a daily basis.

The Market Decline Begins / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2012

By: Anthony_Cherniawski

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleXEU finally cut loose its supports and crossed the 50-day moving average this morning. This is the Wile E. Coyote moment when he finds there is nothing to stand on anymore.

What is more, there is some “extra payback” for all the lies and deceit by the Euro Politicians in the form of a potential Cup with Handle suggesting a probable target near 80.00.

Monday U.S. Financial Markets Closed Due to Sandy Mega Storm / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2012

By: PhilStockWorld

Hurricane Sandy has cancelled the markets today.

Perhaps tomorrow as well as the storm, as you can see from the map, doesn't really hit us until Tuesday morning. So, unless it veers further south than projected, NYC and the exchanges will be smack in the middle of the storm tomorrow morning.

The Free Market’s Slow Death / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2012

By: Alasdair_Macleod

Much has been made in the press of the manipulation of LIBOR, without much explanation of the consequences for prices of all things that depend on supply and demand for bank credit. Outrage focuses on the activities of avaricious bankers, which is why the connection never gets made between relatively minor manipulations of credit pricing by banks and far larger manipulations by central banks.

Stock Market QED / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2012

By: Fred_Sheehan

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThere are many reasons to fear unhedged exposure in the U.S. stock market. Recent corporate conference calls have explored weak or falling revenues. Drooping trade among Asian countries has forewarned of weakness. In the U.S, Europe and Asia, reports describe slumping sales of necessities that may need to be reclassified as luxuries. To rub it in, investment by companies has been scaled back and large layoffs have not slackened.

QE3, A Light on the Future For Investors / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2012

By: DeepCaster_LLC

Best Financial Markets Analysis Article“The challenge for Ben Bernanke and the Fed governors since the 2008 bailouts has been how to deal with the backlog of fraud – not just fraudulent mortgages and fraudulent mortgage securities but the derivatives piled on top and the politics of who owns them, such as sovereign nations with nuclear arsenals, and how they feel about taking massive losses on AAA paper purchased in good faith.

The US Presidential Election, Gold, Dollar and Stocks / Stock-Markets / Financial Markets 2012

By: P_Radomski_CFA

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleWith the US presidential election drawing near, it is beginning to look like Mitt Romney may actually have a shot at the white House. This prompts gold investors to wonder how such an outcome might affect financial markets and especially gold. What if Mitt Romney wins? The election may impact everything from mortgage costs to the cost of financing the U.S. debt. Trillions are at stake.

The theory goes that Romney will replace Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke whose current term will expire in any case on January 2014. He has said as much. This might slow down the perpetual money printing machine, which would be a bearish signal for gold. It would add uncertainty to monetary policy and increase market volatility.
