Tech Stocks Set to Fuel Resurgent U.S. IPO Market / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Money_Morning

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleJason Simpkins writes: After falling off the radar for three years, the U.S. IPO market is off to its best start since before the financial crisis. And with several high profile technology companies set to go public this year, it's likely to carry that momentum forward.

Companies around the globe have raised more than $26 billion through initial public offerings (IPOs) this year, a 20% increase over last year and the best start on record, according to Dealogic. Globally, 15 IPOs were crammed into the first two weeks of February - a month that last year had seen a total of just four IPOs.

Opportunity Knocks For Mobile Computing Stocks / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Money_Morning

Jon D. Markman writes: Stocks swung from the rafters over the past week with a sense of drama that has been missing for the several months as bulls and bears battled over the 1,300 level of the S&P 500.

Like many round numbers of the past three years, this level is the dividing line between the view of optimists and pessimists, and it looks to me like the optimists are on the verge of another big win.

Investing in iPhone Technology: It's Like Buying "B" Shares In Apple Inc / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Money_Morning

Diamond Rated - Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleDavid Zeiler writes: This technology spent 20 years as a humdrum subset of the industrial microchip business - until its consumer-product potential was realized when Apple Inc. (Nasdaq: AAPL) made it a centerpiece of the must-have iPhone.

The sector's overall revenue is already projected to advance by 60% in the next three years.

Cisco, The Story That Wall Street Missed / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Money_Morning

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleJon D. Markman writes: It was another good week for U.S. stocks, despite the whipsaw-trading that resulted from alternating good news/bad news/good news developments on the earnings and geopolitical fronts throughout the week. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.5% for the week, while the Standard & Poor's 500 Index advanced 1.4%. The tech-laden Nasdaq Composite Index only managed to edge up by 0.7%, having been held back by Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO).

Three Stocks To Avoid! / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: Sy_Harding

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleI’m not saying sell them short, but here are three popular stocks I sure would neither buy nor hold at this point. They’ve had good runs, but are looking toppy on our technical charts and on their valuations and fundamentals.

Amazon (AMZN) is an amazing success story, one of the few dotcoms that not only survived the bursting of the dotcom bubble in 1999, when its stock lost 95% of its value, but recovered and has prospered.
