Palladium Metal Investing Primer / Commodities / Palladium
By: Andy_Sutton
Often lost in the shuffle and the talk about gold and silver as the primary precious metals is another metal, which has uses that rival that of silver, is brilliant in appearance and makes a beautiful coin. Its value has quadrupled since 2003 after seeing an all-time high in 2001, and potentially the best aspect yet is that the supply and demand fundamentals have never been better. Guess it yet? I’m talking about palladium. Over the next several pages, we’ll take a look at the many uses for palladium, who the big producers and consumers are, prices, and most importantly, the future outlook. The purpose of this article is not to form specific recommendations, but rather to raise awareness of another of the semi-precious metals and to act as a primer for familiarizing people on its fundamentals.

In most applications, such as autocatalysts, cheaper metals can't be substituted. In fact, if hydrogen-based fuel cells become significant in local power and automotive applications, those high-tech uses would also require palladium.

The Stealth Palladium Bull Market / Commodities / Palladium
By: Sol_Palha
The steeper the mountain the harder the climb the better the view from the finishing line Anonymous
Palladium was the underdog of the precious metals sector for a long time, because for the most part it hardly received any attention. In the last few months this all changed and with the introduction of the Palladium ETF (PALL), Palladium has finally emerged from the shadows to the spotlight. Now the average Joe has a way to jump in and out of Palladium without having to actually purchase the metal. In reality owing the physical is far better than buying the ETF, but that is a topic for another day.

Palladium the Rodney Dangerfield of Metals / Commodities / Palladium
By: Money_and_Markets
Sean Brodrick writes: I call palladium the Rodney Dangerfield of metals because it gets no respect, I tell ya, no respect at all. It's like the forgotten stepsister in the platinum group of metals — platinum commands princely prices and investor interest, while palladium toils away in silence.
But what if I told you that palladium looks ready to stage a rally this year … a rally so strong that it would be the equivalent of gold going as high as $900 or even $1,000 an ounce? In other words, palladium might be on the verge of getting some respect.
