Land Rover Discovery Sport Car Money Saving - OBD2 Diagnostic Port Location DIY Diagnosis / Personal_Finance / Motoring

By: HGR

As soon as my Discovery Sports 3 year manufacturer warranty is up, up popped the dreaded yellow engine management warning light prompting a visit to the local land rover dealer for a diagnosis that they said would cost £150 if the my extended warranty (a few months under approved used) was rejected. £150! just to read the codes! Likely it will be much cheaper at a local garage, maybe £50 to £75. This prompted me to go on the hunt for my own ODB2I ECU reader, one that is likely to work with a Land Rover Discovery Sport. But first to take a look at the OBD2 port / socket so as to ensure whatever I buy actually fits the port which this video illustrates.

Land Rover Discovery Sport vs Multi Story Car Park - First Time Parking! / Personal_Finance / Motoring

By: HGR

So far I have gone out of my way to avoid parking my Land Rover Discovery Sport, large SUV in a multi-story car park for the obvious reasons I don't want to end up getting the sides or bumbers scraped or worse getting stuck especually as many of these multi-story car parks that dot the landscape were constructed when cars were signfiicantly smaller, where now it's definetly not straight forward to park a large 7 seater SUV, that and this being my first attempt means I made the whole process that much more difficult by failing to follow the arrows properly.

Warning - Morethan Hits Non Fault Motorists With 42% Car Insurance Premium Hike / Personal_Finance / Motoring

By: N_Walayat

Warning for motorists that auto renewing your car insurance could prove costly. For instance renewing your car insurance with Morethan could see you pay as much as 42% more than last year, even if you have not been involved in an accident that was your fault.

Whilst motorists understand that if you are involved in an accident that is your fault then your insurance premium will rise at time of renewal. However, what many may not beware of is that some insurers such as Morethan will seek to penalise innocent NO FAULT motorists by hiking premiums by nearly 50%! This despite the fact that the insurer will have been fully reimbursed for costs incurred in the handling any claim. Effectively the same hike in premium as if the motorist had been at fault. So motorists really need to choose their insurance company wisely else face being hit with an extortionate price hike!

IKEA Flat Pack Wardrobe vs Land Rover Discovery Sport Boot / Personal_Finance / Motoring

By: N_Walayat

Whilst shopping at IKEA to buy a TV stand on the spur of the moment I also bought a large wardrobe because it was cheap (£65).
