Agri-Food's Investing to Profit From China and India Economic and Consumer Growth / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleLiving in Florida, as this author does, often comes with minor problems. As one of the biggest batches of cold, snowy winter storms ravages North America, records of all kinds are being broken. Dallas, as an example, had a white Christmas for the first time in 80 years. But, the UK also has problems. Winter weather there may have damaged the Brussels sprouts crop. Is that not real suffering? Relative to all that, what is our problem in Florida? Cannot remember where we put that pair of socks last year.

Marc Faber and Jim Rogers Bullish on Agriculture Because of Fed Created Disaster / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: LewRockwell

Legendary investors Jim Rogers and Marc Faber have similar outlooks on the financial crisis and the efforts of the Federal Reserve to revive the U.S. economy.

What do they think of the Fed's quantitative easing policy? In a word, it is a recipe for disaster.

Agricultural Food Production and Arable Land and Water Trends / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Charles_Maley

Best Financial Markets Analysis Article“If you can tell me something else where the fundamentals are so attractive…I’d be happy to put my money there, but I don’t know of any other place” – JIM ROGERS ON AGRICULTURE

In part one, I spoke a bit about the increasing demand for agriculture due to increasing population over time, and how this is expected to continue. I also mentioned that stockpiles are diminishing and in some markets are making historical lows.

Agri-Food's and the Global Warming Research Dollars Ponzi Scam / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThe Global Warming Scam may finally be on its way to well-deserved oblivion. Take your pick of discrediting events, the snow storms that hit the Midwestern U.S., snow at the start of the Australian Summer, -40 degree temps in Western Canada,  or Climategate. The Global Warming Scam appears now to have been nothing more than a giant research dollar Ponzi-like scheme.

Agriculture Investing, Everybody Has to Eat / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Charles_Maley

Best Financial Markets Analysis Article“If you can tell me something else where the fundamentals are so attractive…I’d be happy to put my money there, but I don’t know of any other place” – JIM ROGERS ON AGRICULTURE

It sure seems like gold and oil have stolen the limelight when it comes to commodities lately.

Agriculture Commodities Sweet Future / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Jennifer_Barry

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleIn December 2008, I discussed the rebound in world food stocks. Excellent weather in the second half of the 2008 growing season led to near-record yields. The fall saw a bountiful harvest, especially in grains. At the same time, the global economic slump had crushed crude oil futures, dampening the associated biofuel demand. Most agricultural commodities, including the grains, fell sharply in price.

Agri-Food Companies Are a Good Contrast with Gold stocks / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleOver the Thanksgiving holiday driving I-95 in Florida provided some insight into the state of at least some segments of the U.S. economy. I-95 is the major North-South highway on the East coast of Florida. It runs from Miami to Georgia. Driving it from mile marker 47 to about mile marker 300 provides a fairly complete sample of travel activity in the state. Travel activity in Florida is a reflection of economic activity within the nation.

Extremely Low Global Food Storage Balances to Drive Agri-Food's Bull Market / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleBounty is the child of shortage. The grandchild of bounty is also called bounty, and begets again shortage. When those generations are born with fanfare, the world is made well aware of the situation. However, creeping shortages go unnoticed. The latter are also more serious as they reflect structural changes emerging in supply-demand. Globally, Agri-Foods may be giving birth to an era more akin to shortage than bounty.

Agri-Food Commodities Continue to Defy Forecasts by Trending Higher / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleAs time is moving rapidly toward the end of the calendar, thoughts tend to go to that which was accomplished during the year. Perhaps this year we might reflect on that which did not happen. A year ago, the outlook for the future was fairly gloomy. In the Western economies, the policies of the cental banks, and in particular the Federal Reserve, were abject failures. While the outlook for the Western economies continues fairly dismal, at least we do not seem to be falling further into an abyss without hope.

A Billion Hungry Mouths, China’s Grain Demand Could Explode / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Sean_Brodrick

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleWhile most commodities have blasted off, agricultural commodities have lagged the rally. I think that’s going to change in a big way, thanks to a country with a billion hungry mouths and plenty of cash. I’m talking about China. And I have three picks to play China’s growing hunger.

Global Recession Ending Good News for Secular Agri-Food Trends / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleThis past weekend while reading Barron’s we were delighted to find that another researcher had discovered Agri-Food investing. However, the recommendations were fairly indicative of someone early in the discovery process. We think that is the case with many investors. They have been waiting to have the story verified by stock prices. That has been done.

China Wealth Expansion Driving Agri-Food's Mega-trend / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleBump and grind economic numbers might suggest that the Western economies, including the U.S., have seen the worst of the economic slide. Despite that appearance of an economic bottom, that the economic policies of the Obama Regime are a failure, and will continue to be a failure, is now increasingly obvious. When nations like China and India are demonstrating superior economic performance perhaps the time has come to either, one, jettison the bumbling economic policies of the Obama Regime, or, two, look elsewhere for opportunities.

Agri-Food Stocks Tied to Positive China Economic Trends / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleFor more than a decade investors have been misled. Was the misinformation intentional? Was the misinformation simply due to ineptness? Whatever the cause, the business media, the Street, and many advisors have not served investors well!  This author, like many of you, has listened to countless hours of investment gurus talk. We have all read millions of words written in print about  how to invest, as advised by experts. How many of them told us ten years ago that future returns in the U.S. equity market would be negative? Go ahead, name two. Not two that you read, but two that were presented by the main stream media.

Agri-Food's impact of Indian Drought and Contracting U.S. Farmland Acreage / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleYears have passed since investors seemed to pay attention to anything other than the latest short-term, but irrelevant, number of the day.  Perhaps the ESPN approach being applied to business news is part of the reason for that. What might happen next week or next year seems of little concern. However, next week and next year have a habit of becoming today over time.

Food Crisis and This Years Indian Rice Crop Failure Impacts on Agri-Food Investments / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Ned_W_Schmidt

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleSometime people do learn from history, though the number that intentionally do so are few. Perhaps one of the largest groups of people that seem to lack the ability to learn from history is composed of economists. The facts that they choose to intentionally ignore are near mind boggling. Two asset bubbles, technology and housing, were claimed to be non existent, until they collapsed. Now, that same group of myopic number crunchers believes that economic growth in Western economies is about to reignite. Is some skepticism appropriate?

Why Food Prices Are Set To Rocket / Commodities / Agricultural Commodities

By: Uncommon_Wisdom

Best Financial Markets Analysis ArticleSean Brodrick writes: China leads the world in many things, including the amount of ground lost to desertification or ecological disaster.

At the same time, the Chinese are changing their eating habits … eating more food and especially more beef. As a result, despite bumper crops, China is becoming more at risk of being unable to feed itself.
