An endoscope is the medical device used - by direct insertion - to visualize suspicious masses in the hollow organs of the body such as the gastrointestinal tract, esophagus, lungs, urinary tract and uterus.

In 1805, Philip Bozzini used a rudimentary, light-guiding tube he created (a Lichtleiter - light guiding instrument) to view the urinary tract, pharynx, and rectum.

TransTech Digest: Move Over, Skynet - Brainet’s in Town / Companies / Technology

By: John_Mauldin

About once a week, I get a call from someone with a strong East Asian accent named Martha or Ralph or something else traditionally American. They tell me that they are calling from the “Microsoft Service Center” or “your computer service contract provider” because my computer is generating error messages, which they would like to help me fix.

Disruptive Technologies - The Sharing Economy Could be Sued Out of Existence / Companies / Tech Stocks

By: ...

MoneyMorning.com Shah Gilani writes: Uber, the ride-sharing service valued at $50 billion, is at the forefront of disrupting the taxi industry.

Consider this small but very telling fact…

A New York taxi medallion, the license that allows you to drive a cab in the city, cost $1.3 million in 2013. But today, you can pick one up for a (relative) song at $840,000.

We Have Tsipras and Merkel to Thank for This Market-Crushing Investor Profit Play / Companies / Investing 2015

By: ...

MoneyMorning.com Peter Krauth writes: Greek banks were hanging onto a cliff's edge by their fingernails when Greek and European parliaments and finance ministers debated the future of Greece within Europe.

But less than a week after the referendum that said "όχι!" (No!) to more austerity, Prime Minister Tsipras had already betrayed that vote, proposing considerable cuts in exchange for yet another lifeline. And yet, the euro hardly budged more than a couple of percentage points, and European stocks are actually positive on the year.

Wall Street Is Ignoring Apple Music – We Shouldn't / Companies / Apple

By: ...

The Most Pressing Reason Yet You Want to Avoid Investing in Retail Stocks / Companies / Retail Sector

By: ...

MoneyMorning.com Keith Fitz-Gerald writes:President Obama announced last week that he’s directing the Department of Labor to mandate higher overtime pay for anybody making $50,400 or less per year. Coupled with rising minimum wage standards, that’s given many people reason to cheer.

Yet, this is absolutely the last thing you want to see as an investor.

To be clear, I think anybody who wants a job should have one and that it should pay well. So let’s get that off the table right away.

The New "Sharing Economy" May Not Be the Profit Bonanza Everyone's Expecting / Companies / Internet

By: ...

MoneyMorning.com Shah Gilani writes: Plenty of analysts, market-watchers, and thought leaders are excited about Uber, Airbnb, and the advent of the so-called "sharing economy."

Here's the thing: The sharing economy isn't for everybody.

Why not? Because, as we learned in the sandbox, not everyone wants to share.

Elliott Wave Analysis of AAPL Apple Stock / Companies / Apple

By: WavePatternTraders

Simply put time is running out for the bulls, the failure to move back above 130 is a problem, it supports an earlier idea I was working and that a peak could well be in place for AAPL at 134.55. The bulls need to see some buyers and push it back above 130 very quickly or I think with the way the rest of the markets are looking we could see much more downside from current levels especially, if we see a sustained break of support on the other tech indexes such as the NDX, COMPQ and AAPL.

Expect A Wave Of Consolidation In The Oil Industry / Companies / Crude Oil

By: OilPrice_Com

As stated previously, asset monetization by small E&P operators will start in earnest in the second half of this year out of cash flow necessity. Most, if not all, smaller market capitalization companies, public or private, are still free cash flow negative (operating cash flow less capital expenditure) and only a few of the larger ones are now, or will be, based on guidance. The point is, with volumes languishing (and probably poised to decline) tied to a flat oil futures price curve and with economics marginal at $60 per barrel, many E&P operators find themselves running through hedges in 2015 and still in need to finance their already reduced capital spending.
