Who’s Eyeing Up 2020? Warren or Sanford? / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2020

By: Rodney_Johnson

In a recent interview with MSNBC, Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) said that his House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence had no knowledge of the UkraineGate whistleblower claim before notification from the Inspector General.

That statement was eventually proven false. As the first whistleblower approached staffers for Schiff’s committee before going to the IG. For the falsehood, the Washington Post awarded Schiff “four Pinocchios.”

Although, as my Millennial kids would tell me, if we’re counting falsehoods, the Washington Post would probably award Trump “all the Pinocchios.”

Elizabeth Warren Charts Wealth-Raiding Warpath to the White House / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2020

By: MoneyMetals

Despite the gravity of an impeachment inquiry that threatens to bring down the presidency of Donald J. Trump, markets have largely shrugged it off.

The reason? Odds of a two-thirds majority in the Republican-controlled Senate voting to remove Trump from office are slim.

What has Wall Street more concerned are the rising odds of Elizabeth Warren becoming the Democrat nominee for president. Her surge (and Joe Biden’s weakness) in the polls may have even contributed to some of last week’s stock market volatility.

UK General Election 2019 - Opinion Polls / ElectionOracle / UK General Election

By: Nadeem_Walayat

The latest opinion polls (for what they are worth) show the Tories gaining ground under Boris Johnson's clear cut do or die Brexit leadership, rising from 26% in July to 34% today, virtually all of the gains coming from the Brexit party which fell from 20% to 13%. Whilst the Labour party has stagnated on 24%.

Could Trump Really Win the 2020 US Presidential Election? / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2020

By: Harry_Dent

I hate politics. I hate that it’s inescapable. What I don’t hate is the investment opportunities the 2020 election will present us.

So I hate, and then embrace…

And with the 2020 election fast approaching, we face a major tipping point… economically, politically, historically.

That means NOW is the time to prepare to protect your business endeavors and investments.

NOW is the time to position to profit.

How to Pay for It All: An Option the Presidential Candidates Missed / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2020

By: Ellen_Brown

The Democratic Party has clearly swung to the progressive left, with candidates in the first round of presidential debates coming up with one program after another to help the poor, the disadvantaged and the struggling middle class. Proposals ranged from a Universal Basic Income to Medicare for All to a Green New Deal to student debt forgiveness and free college tuition. The problem, as Stuart Varney observed on FOX Business, was that no one had a viable way to pay for it all without raising taxes or taking from other programs, a hard sell to voters. If robbing Peter to pay Paul is the only alternative, the proposals will go the way of Trump’s trillion dollar infrastructure bill for lack of funding.

Why Trump Will Easily Win In 2020 / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2020

By: Raul_I_Meijer

July 7 2019, just another tequila Sunday. There are elections here in Greece, and the right wing will take over. Bad idea, because it will bring out the left wing resistance that have remained subdued while Syriza reneged on all their promises, but they were left wing, and how does left protesting left work exactly? They didn’t know. Better lay low. No more.

From now on in, it’s women and children first. And there are so many pent up grievances. Youth unemployment is still at 40%. While ever more Greeks are evicted from their homes through Airbnb alone. This ain’t gonna go well. That strong economy the right promises will be there exclusively for their own richer supporters, at the ever-increasing cost of the poor.

The US women’s soccer team just became World Champions again. That’s the last time in a very long time. Because traditional soccer countries now also have women’s teams. There’s a very peculiar division at the bottom of this. In Europe and South America and Africa, soccer is a men’s game.

Will Millennials Decide the Next US Presidential Election? / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2020

By: Rodney_Johnson

The recent Democratic presidential primary debates were a lot of fun… said no one.

As the process unfolds, I vote that Andrew Yang gets the first question at every debate, since he was given all of three minutes out of 120 on Thursday night. And Marianne Williamson gets to interject anytime she wants, because she’s so off the wall as to be entertaining during an otherwise dreadful affair. If she ever sings “All You Need Is Love,” a Capella on the debate stage, I’ll strongly consider giving her my vote.

But back to the debates…

Boris Johnson Vs Michael Gove Tory Leadership Grudge Match Contest / ElectionOracle / UK Politics

By: Nadeem_Walayat

The tory leadership contest is converging towards the ultimate grudge match that of Boris Johnson who should have won the 2016 leadership campaign against Michael Gove who should have backed Boris Johnson in 2016 but instead chose to stab him in the back by standing himself a few hours before Boris announced his candidature, instead of heading Boris's campaign for tory leader in 2016.

We'll 3 years on Boris has learned his lessons and thus had deployed a slick campaign to convince MP's and Tory party members to back him as their next leader and thus British Prime Minister as the first round of voting illustrates:

UK EU Election Results, Brexit Party Victory, Labour and Tory Bloodbath, UKIP and ChangeUK Die / ElectionOracle / BrExit

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Britain's ruling establishment has been delivered another bloody nose, even worse than the mainstream establishment press had been expecting that the REMAIN parties would do far better than the LEAVE parties with Brexit party typically expected to win about 24 seats i.e. similar to that of UKIP total in 2014.

However, this is set against my long standing forecast of 10th May with expectations that the Brexit Party would win at least 30 seats with the most probable number being 32 seats as my following video illustrates:

Top Democratic Presidential Candidates Opposing Trump / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2020

By: BATR

At this early stage in the political propaganda war for the presidential 2020 election, the best the Democrats can come up with is "Anyone but Trump". Their chances for success resides in the talent that they perfected; namely, election fraud. The mainstream filtered media that attack President Trump share a bipartisan message. Whether wrapped in Marxist terms or Corporatist rational, they are based upon a globalist objective, which benefits international finance. Trump is not immune or exempted from the influence of these despots. The reason he is vilified as no other President has been is because he dares to push back against the established order.

Donald Trump has earned an exemplified record of achievement in the face of a Congress that refuses to bring up or vote for most needed legislation. Add to this impediment a Federal Court system of recreant judges, who ignore the constitution or make up decisions that are illegitimate.

BrExit Party EarthQuake Could Win it 150 MP's at Next UK General Election! / ElectionOracle / BrExit

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Betrayal of voters and failure to follow through on Manifesto promises ensures that Nigel Farage's insurgent BrExit Party is set to storm the European Elections on the 23rd of May, winning more seats than UKIP's previous tally of 24 won in 2014. However, the pain for Westminster mainstream parties won't end with the EU elections for given the state of the Tory government barely clinging onto power with the help of the erratic DUP then a General Election later this year is increasingly becoming likely.

Brexit Party Set to Storm EU Parliament Elections - Seats Forecast / ElectionOracle / BrExit

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Britain's walking dead Labour and Conservative zombie political parties are about to reap the whirlwind for not just failing to deliver on the 2016 EU referendum result of LEAVING the EU on the 29th of March 2019. But having effectively ignored near half the electorate for the past 2 decades, who have increasingly became disengaged from the 2 parties, who in reality have become largely the SAME party!

The first shock to the system was the UKIP victory in the 2014 European Elections by winning 24 seats, and then came LEAVE winning the 2016 EU Referendum. And so voters on the 23rd of May look set to deliver the next BREXIT SHOCK to the political establishment, where most MP's have long since sold out the British people to the bankers and billionaires who effectively run the show the most notable consequence of which was ConLab BAILING OUT the BANKING CRIME SYNDICATE in 2008-2019, the price for which has been borne by ordinary British people resulting in a decade of stagnating earnings for most workers.

Could a Lurch Toward Socialism Sink Democrats in 2020? / ElectionOracle / US Presidential Election 2020

By: MoneyMetals

Rahm Emanuel, the former Chief of Staff for President Barack Obama and now Mayor of Chicago, is worried about socialism. Of course, he’s a proponent of redistribution and collectivist initiatives such as socialized medicine. He just thinks it’s bad politics.

He believes too many Americans aren’t yet keen on overt socialists running for office.

According to Emanuel, Democratic candidates and operatives should distance themselves from using the word “socialism” and find other ways to describe their agenda.

US Mid-terms Post-Election Run Down: Biggest Winner, Biggest Loser / ElectionOracle / US Congressional Elections

By: MoneyMetals

Tuesday's elections produced some winners, some losers, some surprises, and some lingering uncertainties.

For investors, the potential for a major shock to the markets was averted. But with Democrats poised to take control of Congress, new legislative threats to wealth holders loom on the horizon.

Even though the GOP lost the House of Representatives, it gained seats in the Senate – a rare feat during a mid-term election for a party that controls the White House. President Donald Trump hailed the night a “tremendous success.”

US Midterm Elections Forecast 2018 / ElectionOracle / US Congressional Elections

By: Nadeem_Walayat

Several patrons have messaged me asking for my views on the mid-term US elections. Whilst I’ve not been following these elections too closely i.e. in terms of betting on them, nevertheless here is my view which is primarily based on the fact that usually the party that holds the White House tends to do badly in the mid-terms.
